The Pentagram is one of the world's most ancient symbols. The 5 points of the star each represent an element - air, fire, water, earth and spirit. When the Pentagram is in a circle - a Pentacle - its energy is focussed and directive, bringing intelligence, universal wisdom and protection to the wearer. A Pentacle is also considered mystical and balanced - female and male weaving forever in perfect harmony.
The Triquetra is symbolic for many faiths. For Pagans it represents of the Goddess in her triple aspect of Maiden, Mother & Crone whilst the ancient Celts regarded it as a symbol of life & birth, death & rebirth and movement & change. The three-pronged knot also symbolises the Celtic philosophy that everything has 3 distinct yet interlocked levels - mind, body and spirit. When the Celts embraced Christianity they used this symbol to represent the Holy Trinity.
