The Chakras are energy centres located in the area of specific human organs and they are linked to each other by channels called 'Nadi' (an old sanskrit word which means pipes or veins). The Nadi collect vital energy (known as Chi) and channel it back to the Chakras, which in turn extract the vital energy required to keep the physical body replenished and to keep the etheral, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies replenished. The Chakra Points also rotate or spin - men's and women's Chakra points spin in opposite directions to each other and therefore complement and balance each other.

As each Chakra is responsible for distributing energy to different parts of the body, when the vital energy is blocked or unbalanced, it can affect all areas of life. Therefore, stimulating the Chakras by means of meditation creates a feeling of wholeness and balance beneficial to both mental and physical health. Wearing or placing a specific crystal on a Chakra helps to evoke and stimulate the most subtle forces.
