Sterling silver is a soft metal and will tarnish over time when in contact with the skin (especially if there is a high PH), perfumes, the elements in general and in hotter weather. We recommend our jewellery is always stored in the box provided when not worn to lessen any tarnishing. Rubbing with our soft silver jewellery polishing cloths easily removes any natural tarnish.

Sterling silver under 7.78g weight is exempt from hallmarking under the UK Hallmarking Act 1973. The minimum hallmark requirement for sterling silver over this weight is the '925' stamp. This indicates that the item contains 92.5% silver and by definition is sterling silver.
Gold under 1g weight is exempt from hallmarking under the UK Hallmarking Act 1973. The minimum hallmark requirement for 9 carat gold over this weight is the '375' stamp. This indicates that the item contains 37.5% gold and by definition is 9 carat gold.
Most of the jewellery makers place their hallmark stamps in the most unobtrusive place (usually in the chain bale), so as not to spoil the lines of the jewellery.
